Classify Consent

Consent Labs

Overview

We partnered with Consent Labs, Australia’s leading experts on consent, to create the first ever film classification to call out a lack on consent in film and television.

Challenge

While progressive new laws have swept the nation, most Australians still can’t define what consent is. To make matters worse, non-consensual acts are being reinforced every day on our screens.

Disruption®

We wanted to give Australians the tools to recognise non-consensual acts so we launched #ClassifyConsent, a campaign for the first-ever film classification (C) to call out a lack of consent. Just like with ‘violence’ (V), the simple classification informs viewers of a ‘lack of consent’ before they watch content.

Both educational and action based, we explained what consent was with every asset, as well as encouraging viewers to sign a government petition to create real change on our screens.
